No Audio From Ripped CD FLAC File

I happened to notice that the FLAC files of a CD that I ripped have no audio. At first I thought it was the player (MusicBee), so I rebooted, but still no audio. Then I tried VLC and Windows Media Player, but neither produced audio. The FLAC files from other rips play just fine, at least the ones that I have tried. Any idea what may have caused this scenario?

Do the file sizes look normal or are they only a few kb. What does the ripping log say for the album. Ripped securely or accuraterip match? Maybe there was an error ripping but you didnt notice. My next step would be to rerip the cd.

garym Sorry for the delay. I thought I had already responded. Yes, the file sizes are normal. Is the log data archived? I only know how to access the data from the last rip (Menu > View Error & Information Logs).

I just noticed a slightly different situation today. I have a rip that I did this morning and just happened to start listening to it. One of the tracks in the middle of the ripped FLAC file has no audio. The file size looks correct, or at least it's not a low number. I believe it showed as an accurate rip, so I'm not sure what's going on.

I'm re-ripping the track now. It's taking a long time, but I do have Secure Rip enabled, so I guess it's to be expected.

I'm starting to wonder if any of my other rips have this issue. I guess I won't know until I play them.

You can check the accuracy of your previous rips with PerfectTUNES.

The re-ripped version plays. I guess I need to look at the logs from the first rip to see if there is something there.

You can have a ripping lot created as a txt file and saved to your album subfolder at the time of ripping. This way you can always review the log in the future. Somewhere in CD ripper options, under secure ripping, toward the bottom of options. I'm not at home, but it says something about saving logs. Also change it to be a COMPLETE log (one of the options is complete or some similar word)

I found it. It's in the Secure Rip Settings. I will have the logs for each rip going forward. There are three options: Simple, Detailed, and Complete. What is the difference between the Detailed and Complete options? Do you know? I wasn't able to find that.

Hopefully you have this all figured out by now, but I really want to know what any of those flac files that don't play sound look like in a wave editor.

No, unfortunately it is not worked out. I'm still discovering files that have no audio. I did turn on the logging. My next step should be to check the logs, but in the last file I noticed that had no audio I don't recall there being any issues with the rip in the summary.

I decided to take a look at the logs and it indicates a secure rip. I don't see any issues, but if there is no audio then there is obviously an issue. Also, file size appears to be normal. It doesn't appear to be truncated in any way. I'm on my phone, but I'll attach it in another post.

Ignore the part about a later post. I've attached the log here. Track 10 is the known track without any audio. I don't believe that I tried listening to any others.

if in fact that I'm reading the log correctly and there are no issues indicated, are there any thoughts on what might be going on to cause this given that most of the tracks I've ripped can be played and heard?

Whilst there isn't a match to AccurateRip (I assume the disc isn't in the database) the log looks fine.

Run the files through PerfectTUNES and check that the track CRCs match the ripping log.
