I have a brand new Dell XPS Desktop running Windows 11, and a Mercury Pro external CD/DVD drive, connected with the provided USB 3 cable and connected to an external AC power source. I use it primarily to rip music CDs.
This was working great at the drive's rated speeds of between 16x and 40x. Suddenly, it can't rip CDs any faster than 3.6x or 4x.
Is there any setting in CD Ripper (or in Windows 11) that might be causing this, or a recent update? It was great, and now it's not.
I have gone to Mercury one and they can't think of anything. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drive, different USB ports, many different CDs, etc.
