Possible Windows Explorer crash under dBpoweramp's influence

I have news, it wasn't OneDrive. The AMD driver remains suspicious as the problem does not happen in safe-mode.

I just wanted to pop in because I have been dealing with the same thing. After 3-4 rips, my explorer will randomly crash, too. Last night I decided to test something. I decided to rip using iTunes. Same thing happened, after 3-4 rips in iTunes, explorer crashed. Obviously this is an issue within windows, maybe a recent Windows update, as I just started purchasing CDs again to rip after about a year.

I tried to do some more investigating. I downloaded EAC and MusicBee, along with iTunes, they also caused my windows to crash after 4 or 5 rips. I noticed secure rip was on all of them and iTunes was set for error correction, not sure if they would be the same, as I've never really cared enough for iTunes to rip anything with it. Once I unchecked secure rip in all, they all ripped fine - even dbpoweramp. Windows seems to be having the issue with something within the secure rip??

HiWastelandMO, how are you doing?

Can you give me the information:

• What graphics card do you use?
• Is it Windows 10 or 11?
• If it's 10, which build is it?
• What drive do you use to rip the CDs?

Perhaps we can cross check our information and see the root cause.

One "workaround" I am doing is to leave Explorer open and not mess with it. Then, I will run dBpoweramp for a couple of rips. Close it and back with Explorer again. But I've seen another particular situation that whether I have LibreOffice Writer or Microsoft Word opened, they will also crash. Will be soon replace my entire system to new hardware.

Unfortunately, I'm here to report this issue as well. Explorer will randomly crash while ripping CDs. It'll also sometimes crash when trying to access the right click explorer context menus when dbpoweramp is open on the desktop. I've tried disabling all the shell integrations. I've tried disabling one drive. I've also tried disabling Windows animation effects.

My setup:
CPU: AMD 9800X3D
MB: Rog Strix B650E-I gaming wifi
Ram: G.SKILL Trident Z5 Neo RGB Series (AMD Expo) DDR5 RAM 64GB (2x32GB)
Storage: 1 samsung 990 pro 4tb and 1 samsung 980 pro 4tb m.2 drives
GPU: EVGA GEFORCE 3080
OS: Windows 11 24h2 OS Build 26100.2894
Optical Drive: LG BE14NU40 external USB running stock firmware.

All drivers including chipset and usb drivers are up to date. I do not have any driver level disc cracking software running.
