    Error reporting

    Hi
I have just been unable to rip after many months without difficulties. The message I am getting is"Secure ripping is not supported with unregistered dbpoweramp. Select standard ripping method". Could you explain what this means please and what I need to do to correct the situation. Thank you.

    Re: Error reporting

It means you have the unregistered version of the software, and you need the registered version to secure rip.

If you have purchased already, Re-issue registered version of dBpoweramp can be downloaded from this page:

Enter your Order reference / receipt number when asked, a download link is then presented.

Thanks but unfortunately this does not work as it's for Windows. The version I am using is for Mac. Can you provide me with the download for that too please.

You have to download the newest Test version, dBpoweramp for OSX is not yet released.

              Hiya
Thanks but still no joy. Do I have to reset with three CD's perhaps? I tried setting to a higher quality and then rejected. Then tried at default and I am getting Inaccurate (132).

No that does not work I'm afraid. This is weird. it was working fine. There must be some reason for it!

                    Run this:

...also how to do a full reset of dBpoweramp? (if dBpoweramp crashes for some reason) Where does dBpoweramp save its files / settings? It is installed to c:\Program Files\Illustrate\dBpoweramp or c:\Program Files (x86)\Illustrate\dBpoweramp The 64 bit version of dBpoweramp is installed to: c:\Program Files\dBpoweramp It

Then reinstall, all settings in the program are wiped, try ripping on the default settings (just change encoder and let AccurateRip configure).

No change. I don't really know what you mean. Think I will abandon as this is just ti techie. iTunes will have to do. problem is it keeps trying to install in Windows! Any ideas before i abandon ship? Thanks.

                        Re: Error reporting

If you are to rip in iTunes, you can configure dBpoweramp the same (iTunes is not a secure ripper), the 'error' you are having is a ripping error, it is very likely iTunes will give exactly the same result, but will not tell you. It could be your CD drive is failing...

Anyhow, if you select 'Burst Ripping' and disable AccurateRip then dBpoweramp will rip the same as iTunes.

Ah! That's helpful. Thank you very much. I had not thought of that possibility. I am trying to Rip to both iTunes and Poweramp so that I can play on my server through my higher quality hi-fi. This may be unnecessary as the collection has already been ripped but I don't think to the same quality as your system operates. I will check the quality on iTunes too.
