No audio data after a rip

I am a registered user of dbPoweramp. I have version R15 installed.

A fault has developed with the CD Ripper. Normally a progress bar showing the percentage of track ripped appears, but I have noticed that recently this has changed - "Ripping 0%" will blink for a split-second and then change immediately to "*tick* Complete". This will hold for a few seconds before changing to "Accurate (2)". The ripped tracks appear in my destination folder as .flac files, and include all metadata, but there is no audio data, and the track lengths are 0. Following the advice of this support thread I right-click and "Run as Administrator" for the CD Ripper, but I have successfully ripped CDs as normal this way before so I am not sure if it is responsible. I have not changed any other options or preferences in the CD Ripper so I am honestly baffled as to why this has started happening. Any assistance would be appreciated.

How long does it take to rip the whole CD?

Re: No audio data after a rip

Thanks for your response - an extended period without internet prevented me from following-up on this problem, but I am afraid that it still continues so I still need help. A complete CD of 20+ music tracks currently finishes ripping in about 3 to 4 minutes.

I've tried ripping a CD again now - it has the same issue, except when finished the tracks gave a different status from before, "Accurate (15)" instead of (2).

Re: No audio data after a rip

The numbers all seem right. Try this:

        Close CD Ripper

Start dBpoweramp Configuration >> Music Converter

enable the debug option. Click Ok.

Start CD Ripper and rip 1 track only to FLAC, then close CD Ripper, the debug log will show in Notepad on close, copy the text and paste here please.

As a test change the encoder to Wave, rip one track and see if the audio length is zero also.

The audio length remained 0:00 for the wave version as well. The file size is 12.7kB.

Do you have any security or anti malware, or anti phishing software? if so try to disable it as a test.

I have security software by Comodo installed. I disabled it and ran the CD Ripper again - exact same problem.

Re: No audio data after a rip

Take an existing audio file and convert it to wave (no debug required), what is the audio length of the wave file?

Re: No audio data after a rip

I used the Music Converter to change a normal audio file from Flac to Wave - this worked as normal, with both audio lengths being 3:44.

I used the Music Converter to change one of these zero-length files from Flac to Wave - this had no effect, audio length remained 0 in both versions.

                        Try run:

...also how to do a full reset of dBpoweramp? (if dBpoweramp crashes for some reason) Where does dBpoweramp save its files / settings? It is installed to c:\Program Files\Illustrate\dBpoweramp or c:\Program Files (x86)\Illustrate\dBpoweramp The 64 bit version of dBpoweramp is installed to: c:\Program Files\dBpoweramp It

Clear all the settings and files, then reinstall dBpoweramp and try ripping using default settings (no changes).

Re: No audio data after a rip

Do I need to uninstall dbpoweramp first and then run this program, or will it nuke everything on its own?

EDIT: How long does this program usually take? As soon as I pressed 'reset' I was given a completion notice very much instantly. Is that normal? My Start Menu dbpoweramp shotcuts remained but the links were dead, so it seemed to have worked.

I used the program anyway (twice, once as Admin and once normally, as described on the forum) and then reinstalled R15. Audio files are still reading zero for track length! The same is happening to multiple CDs.

For experiment, I've also tried ripping the same CD I've just tested with the CD Ripper with now with Windows Media Player instead and that has worked successfully.

If you rip a popular CD it verifies correctly with AccurateRip?
