Ripping and naming multi cd collections

Hi All,

I've been working on path and file naming
[genre]\[album artist][IFCOMP]Various Artists[]\[album][IFMULTI] (Disc [SETLEN]2,48,,[disc][])[]\[IFCOMP][SETLEN]2,48,,[track][]-[artist] - [title][][IF!COMP][SETLEN]2,48,,[track][] - [title][]

this does almost everything I want....though just shy of perfect.
currently this gives me
Pop\Madonna\Immaculate\05 - Holiday
Pop\Various Artists\Immaculate\05-Madonna - Holiday
Pop\Various Artists\Immaculate (Disc 01)\05-Madonna - Holiday
Pop\Madonna\Immaculate (Disc 01)\05 - Holiday

for multi disc sets though I would like
Pop\Madonna\Immaculate (Disc 01 of 03)\05 - Holiday

I've found if I add anything else it disrupts the whole string. Am I hitting some sort of string length limit?

using latest version of registered software

Disrupts the string in the editor? or the final filename when you rip?

hmmm, I went to get an example and this time it worked.

produced the output I am looking for.

maybe there was a stray character... well thanks prompting me to try again.

OK I'm noticing that
[IFMULTI] (Disc 02 of Disc 2)
is added to album meta data line. right now its an extra step to remove that before I rip...

I can live with it for now, please add to the "would be nice to fix" list, please

I'd suggest you just use a separate profile for multi-disc sets. As you've already discovered, long, complex naming strings are cumbersome and finicky. Breaking it up into profiles for your two or three most common ripping situations is much easier. (You can, of course, make as many profiles as you want, but to address the immediate predicament you describe, I'd at least create a separate one for multi-disc sets.)
