How do I make one error free "master" rip from several of the same CD?

Noob question, but after digging through a good bit of documentation, I still haven't got the answer.

Lets says I've got 2 copies of a CD, "Stone Temple Pilots, CORE". If I rip the first one, I'll have 3 tracks that ripped with errors. I'll pop the second copy into the CD drive. Since it's a different pressing of the same CD, CD Ripper doesn't recognize it and wants me to re-rip all the tracks. The 3 tracks that errored out on the first disc rip fine on the second disc. The problem I'm running into with this is that I'll get wildly inconsistent album art color/size, track titles, etc when this happens. Is there a way to "force" CD ripper into understanding that these are the same CD? I'd just like to know if it's possible to rip 2/3/4 "scratched" copies of the same CD and put all the good track rips together to make one error free disc.

    THANKS!

As Spoon said, CD Ripper can't automate this work for you. But you can certainly do it yourself. And since I assume we're not talking about A LOT of albums, it really shouldn't be that much work. (Well, it's hard for me , at least, to imagine one person having multiples of many CDs in their collection, and on top of that, multiples where all of the multiple discs are so damaged that you can't get a good rip out of any of them...!)

Anyway, here's how I would do it:
      1. Load disc *1. Review the metadata & album art to ensure they're what you want. Rip disc *1. Jot down which tracks are accurate.
      2. Load disc *2. De-select the tracks for which you already have good rips. Check the metadata, remove the album art. Rip disc *2.
      3. Repeat with additional copies, if necessary, until you have an accurate rip of every track.

(If you're getting a lot of errors, you might want to try a different optical drive. Also, keep in mind that CDs will sometimes rip okay on one drive but not another, so it's worth trying a troublesome CD in a different drive.)
