And I know that J. River can handle FLAC files just fine. Good luck with getting a resolution and have a Happy New Year with Good Listening! Cheers. /Gary
Let me try it to see if FLAC will handle by J.River without any problems.

    Cheer!!!!!! Happy listening.

something really odd is going on, and I'm afraid it is probably something in your system or in your work flow. Download foobar2000 and try to play these WAV and FLAC files, and then report back. Download here:

Re: J.River Media Center Ver 17.0.186 cannot play wav file ripped by dB

With J.River Beta team excellent help. The problems is solved. I like to thank MrC's big help.

            Quoted

            Ok, got it.

This is a problem with command line argument parsing, and is not specific to wav files.

Matt - create an mp3 file named:

            a;b.mp3

and it will fail to play using File > Open Media File. The semicolon is causing fits for the argument processor.

            Unquoted

Is there any way dBpoweramp ripper will drop the ";" to fit the argument processor ?

            Cheers!!!!!!!!!!

            Happy New Year.

                    Thanks mrspoonbsi.

                    By replace " ; " by " - "

                    And change the default character replacement " : " to " - " instead of " ; " too.

It is working without any problems so far so good.

                    Happy listening.

                      ;

is a legal character for Windows, not sure why J River is having issues with these filenames.

I make a post of the solution in J.River. They may have it changed in next version by Matt.

                          Rely from Beta Team :

I posted the bug in the MC 18.0.104 thread. JRiver typically follows-up on bug reports such as this pretty quickly.

I'd hold off making any file name changes for a couple of days if you can. There's nothing wrong with a semicolon in a file name (its Windows NTFS legal, as well as legal in other filesystems).

Recently, the argument processing in MC changed dramatically - this is just a missed case.

I have been using J.River for several months. I am using dBpa with the default character conversion. I don't have any of those problems in J.River. I like Classical music, and MANY of my filenames have ";" in them. Maybe it's something else causing your problems.

(Now using JRMC 18.0.104 and dBpa ???? How DO you get the version of a running copy of dBpa?)

This is not difficult in itself, but difficult to remember because no one else does it that way. (Especially if you are 60+ like me, and can't remember what you had for breakfast.) How about an "about" box in the next version?
