It depends on drive you are using and discs conditions. There are drives which rips better at higher speeds, and other rips better at lower speeds. Just rip a somewhat damaged CD at several speeds, and select the one which returns less C2 errors, or none at all. For a real Plextor drive, perhaps 24x is the most equilibrated speed.
