Adding additional Genre type

I like to use additional Genre types, other than the ones in the drop down list in the program.
A new Genre type seems not to be stored for use next time.
How do I add a new Genre type to the dropdown list ?

look in %appdata%\dbpoweramp

that is where there is genres.txt

can you give some more detailed instructions ?
I found the file in AppData>Roaming>dbpoweramp and added my own genre word to the bottom of the list and saved the file.
And started the program but the new term does not show in the genre list.
[I assume the term is not shown because it is in Dutch ]

Excuse me, I just restarted the program for the second time (after making the changes in the file) and the new genre word was in the list.
