I recently purchased dbPowerAmp 14.2, and already have a lifetime subscription to the GD3 database. However, I've yet to see anywhere I can put my user/pass in for it in the program, and the GD3 button is grayed out in the metadata retrieval window when I pop a CD in. Also, any CD's I put in will only get info from FreeDB and MusicBrainz, and no others, despite also having purchased the AMC activation as well, and ran it on my system with no luck. When I try to manually select those to retreive CD information, no information at all is retreived.

Re: GD3 and 14.2
You require dBpoweramp Reference, make sure you have this version to get all the metadata. -
Re: GD3 and 14.2
I'm slightly confused then. The version I have is the R14.2 family pack. If I didn't clarfiy that, then my apologies. If there is a separate download that is the Reference version, then if you could point me in the right direction, I'd appreciate itComment

Re: GD3 and 14.2
The Family Pack is correct, look in dBpoweramp Configuration is should state: Registered Reference
Please post a screen shot of GD3 disabled.Comment

Re: GD3 and 14.2
I'm having a similar problem. I just purchased the $38 bundle for my new Windows 7 PC after having successfully ripped 5,000+ CD on version 13 on my old XP PC. Now, after doing about 60 accurate and secure rips in 14.2, I don't see anything coming across from GD3, my preferred meta provider. I don't see where to control the setting for GD3. I can only click it or unclick it in the meta options, and that doesn't change anything. I am getting AMG and the others, just not GD3. I looked in confiurgation and mine says Registered Reference. Also, I don't see the batch ripper under the menu of features beneath dBpoweramp Music Converter within my All Programs. I see the converter, the CD ripper, the batch converter, and configure, but no batch ripper. And now when I go to retrieve registrations (thinking I might need to retrieve something I previously bought for GD3) I get an excessive downloads response. I like a lot of the new ripping functionality I see in 14.2, but I miss my GD3. What am I missing?Comment

Re: GD3 and 14.2
There is no need to activate GD3, it is always active with 14.2 Reference, if you are getting AMG then GD3 should also come in, unless something is blocking it.
On your XP PC can you still get GD3? what happens if you install R14.2 on to the XP machine, does GD3 come in still?Comment

Re: GD3 and 14.2
I don't know what would be blocking it. I do have McAffee on the new PC (came with it), but I looked in the settings and it says 0 programs are being blocked. Just blocking a bunch of cookies at the moment. I noticed in 14.2 when I go to meta options, and then settings near the bottom, there's no settings available for GD3. The only settings avaialble are for AMG, dBpoweramp Cache, and freedb. I don't know if that's normal or not. I suspect its normal since I don't see GD3 as a setting choice on the old PC which has dBp v 13.3. I have not installed the new version on the old PC since it's near death and I'm needing to retire it ASAP. But on the old PC I see the Batch Ripper within the dBp programs. And when I launch that I can get more robust meta detail. There it shows active providers and shows GD3 checked. and for AMG it shows 24 lookups remaing with the option to purchase link at the right. I don't know if these settings are exclusive to the batch ripper or if they have any impact to the CD ripper. Bottom line is I don't see the batch ripper in the new 14.2 version, which may or may not be related to the GD3 issue. I just stuck a CD in the old PC, unchecked AMG and all the others and it says meta source: GD3. I can't do that trick with the same CD on the new PC. When I do that on the new PC, I get no track details or artwork. As another test I just turned off the McAffee firewall then refreshed the meta data in dBp, still no GD3.Comment

Re: GD3 and 14.2
I installed 14.2 to the old PC. Works fine and gets GD3. On the new PC I uninstalled 14.2, shut down, loaded the trial version, then loaded the my registered download version of 14.2. Same results with GD3 as before the uninstall/reinstall. It reads AMG, but when I uncheck all providers except GD3 and refresh, I get no meta data, whereas I get GD3 data plus 600X600 artwork for the same test CD on the old PC. At least in the meantime I figured out how to install the batch ripper. So the only remaining mystery is why can't my brand new Dell Windows 7 PC pick up GD3?Comment

Re: GD3 and 14.2
I don't think so. In the LAN Settings on the Control Panel the 'Automatically detect settings' box is checked, and the 'Use a proxy server for your LAN' box is unchecked.Comment

Re: GD3 and 14.2
and in dBpoweramp Configuration >> Music Converter >> Connect through proxy server is unchecked?Comment

Re: GD3 and 14.2
I also just tried the program I once used with GD3, and it was able to get the CD's metadata and cover art with no problem at all, even with my firewall active, and my PC removed as the DMZComment
