    Constantly Retrying CD

I'm brand new to dbpoweramp. Have found it very useful, but I have an issues where the program constantly cycles the CD mechanism - like it's reminding me to enter another CD. Sometime it will do this up to 10 times - that becomes irritating. This happens just after it has ripped a CD, and makes it almost impossible to read the information sheet generated by the previous rip.

Is there some way to tell the program when I want to load another CD, instead of it insisting I load another CD?

If not, is there some way to get it to stop repeatedly cycling the CD drive?

You are using the normal CD Ripper or Batch Ripper?

As far as I can tell I'm using CD Riper - at least that's what it say at the top of the window bar.

Yes, it is a slot loader - on a laptop.

Make sure you have the auto eject option unchecked.

                Re: Constantly Retrying CD

In addition to the multiple cycling of the drive requesting another CD, I also notice that the dialog for the disc drive stays on the screen - the one with the Retry button - so that I cannot completely see the log of the previous CD's rip results.

                That doesn't seem right ...

                  Q. Has anyone heard of this happening before?

                  Q. Does anyone have any idea how to fit it?

It seems like a 'bug' but being new to dbpoweramp I haven't found anyway to get technical support, other than through this forum.

Is there a more direct way of getting technical support for dbpoweramp?

                  Thanks

If the option to eject the CD is unchecked, then after ripping the log should not be obstructed on screen, as there would be no insert disc dialog.

You are correct. Now that issue is resolved, but the dbpoweramp continues to cycle the drive up to 10 times, while requesting another disc.

How does a person get tech support for dbpoweramp?

Support is provided here on the forum. dBpoweramp polls the drive to see if a disc is loaded, but this action should never set the drive to try to load the CD, unless the CD drive had a poor firmware (I have a slot loader on my laptop, it does not try to load or eject constantly).

                          Hi Spoon & Others:

I have yet to resolve this issue. It does not happen when I eject CDs from Window's Media Player. I also notice that this recycling attempt to load another CD - 10 times - takes place prior to the results dialog appearing from the previous rip. During this time to hour glass is showing in dbpoweramp, and it remains there until all 10 attempts have been made. Only then is the results dialog displayed.

I should mention that I am running dbpoweramp via Parallels Desktop for the Mac.

                            Clear dBpoweramp:

...also how to do a full reset of dBpoweramp? (if dBpoweramp crashes for some reason) Where does dBpoweramp save its files / settings? It is installed to c:\Program Files\Illustrate\dBpoweramp or c:\Program Files (x86)\Illustrate\dBpoweramp The 64 bit version of dBpoweramp is installed to: c:\Program Files\dBpoweramp It

Then reinstall and try on the default settings, to see if it does the 10 attempts.

                              Thanks for the suggestion, Spoon.

After reading the link you sent me, I'm not clear about hope much deleting of dBpoweramp I have to do, and how much is handled by the utility that I'm supposed to run from the Internet.

"We have created a utility to wipe dBpoweramp from these areas:"

Does this utility entirely clear dBpoweramp, or do I have to manually delete the files mentioned at the top of the page:

"Where does dBpoweramp save its files / settings?
It is installed to Program Files\Illustrate\dBpoweramp
It writes large settings as files to: Application Data\dBpoweramp"
