Hello
After purchasing and downloading dbpoweramp ref 14 earlier this week, I was hoping to make a start on my new ripping project today.
I have always used EAC previously but after reading an article on computer audiophile about the best way to rip and achive CD libraries, since I wanted to encode into 3 different formats, and because of the better meta tagging associated with dbpoweramp, I decided to give it a try.
However, I just can't seem to get it to work.
As far as I can tell, the install went ok, and I've set up the multi coder to allow me to produce a FLAC, AIFF and mp3 copy of each CD I rip.
These are all going to be stored on a Netgrear ready NAS that I've also purchased for the project.
When I put the first CD in, initially things looked ok with it being recognised - album information and artwork appeared fine, and it confirmed that it was an album recognised in accurate rip.
However, when I press rip, it simply went through each of the tracks and put a red cross next to them and then I get a list of all the tracks, each reporting an error in the report.
After trying a couple of different cds, I also went into the settings - my CD rom is recognised (it's an old Plextor px 40 ts) but when I wanted to check the cache, it told me that the CD player wasn't recognised.
This is incredibly frustrating, especially since I've only moved over from EAC because of the supposed ease of use of dbpoweramp.
Please can someone help, or if not, I'll shall be looking for a refund.
Thanks
Steve
