    You would have to try a different program to see if that can use C2 pointers on your hardware.

              We have no answer, there will be drives which work in program X, but not in program Y, but other drives which work the other way around.

                So by what you say I cannot get the optimum quality of ripping with dBpoweramp but EAC would be able to offer optimum ripping with my existing drive?

                    What a shame; I had EAC for free & I have paid for dBpoweramp which I cannot use for optimum performance.
