PS3 WMA Lossless playback - Files are unsupported?

I have ripped some of my CD's as WMA Lossless with dbpoweramp. I have enabled WMA playback on the PS3, and trying to stream with Windows Media Center. The PS3 shows the folders, but it will not play the files. It says they are unsupported. Why will it not play?

PS3 only supports one lossless format native. wav files.

There are many legacy issues with any kind of playback of compressed formats over 320kps. So compressed lossless or VBR files commonly run into problems.
