    Won't rip on one machine

    Help...

Have run over 1,000 discs through used MF Digital Ripstation (yes, the one I've fought with before, but that was mechanical...) and all the ripped results have been fine.

Loaded a batch today, and they won't rip; I get the message:
Error ripping to FLAC, 'Track 1' to 'I:\Music Untagged\4-21-2009\ -\01 Track 1.flac' Error unable to open File 'I:\Music Untagged\4-21-2009\ -\01 Track 1.flac' for writing. [clEncoder::BeginConversion]

Every track, same error. This happened on the first 6 discs in the batch, at which point I ended the batch. Tried one of the CD's in plain old CD Ripper, same result. Loaded the CD in another machine, rips in CD Ripper with no problem

Both computers have automatic windows update enabled, and both got updated; the MF Digital more than the other...possible cause????

Thanks for any help. Let me know if you need more information.

Is " -" (that is <space><minus>) a valid directory name? Was the Naming string in your default profile (assuming you're using the same one in CD Ripper and Batch Ripper) set to something that makes sense?

It's not the naming. The setup you saw has worked on CD Ripper before, worked on the second machine as well.

For test purposes, ran again without that part of the naming, same error:

Error ripping to FLAC, 'Track 1' to 'I:\Music Untagged\4-22-2009\01 Track 1.flac'
Error unable to open File 'I:\Music Untagged\4-22-2009\01 Track 1.flac' for writing. [clEncoder::BeginConversion]

      Next??

      thnx

What's on the I: drive? Are you sure your optical drives didn't get renamed and I: is now an optical drive?
