I guess this will sound like a daft question(!), but with this drive:
Manufacturer: HL-DT-ST
CD Drive: DVDRAM GSA-T20N
Firmware: WP03
Serial:
Maximum Speed: 4234 KB/sec (x24)
Current Speed: 4234 KB/sec (x24)
Spin-down After: 2 minutes
Buffer Size: 2 MB
Accurate Stream: Yes
C2 Error Pointers: Yes
Reads ISRC: Yes
Reads UPC: Yes
...I presume I should check the "C2 Pointers for Error Detection" box in the Secure Options menu?
I'm a bit unsure as I haven't used the [Detect C2 Support] function, and yet dB knows the drive supports C2. Does it know because of the manufacturer/model number, or something?
One more thing - how do I know if the drive supports C2 well or badly, and so know which Ultra Secure settings to choose (number of passes, maximum re-reads etc).
Thanks in advance.
