    Re: New Plextor 230A issue

I did a little research on the IDE to SATA converters and it looks like they are crap. Can someone please recommend a SATA ripper that is comparable to the 230A?

It means they are generally unreliable. Directly translated it means feces, dung, turd. You must not be from the USA. Do you know of a good SATA ripper?

I appreciate all your replies and help.

I have some great news! In a last attempt to get the 230A working with my board, I completely uninstalled dbpoweramp and upon reinstall was asked to have dbpoweramp configure my 230A. It worked! I can’t believe it. To help others with similar issues I will step you through the simple process.

I am running XP pro SP3: Unninstall the program from add/remove programs. I also uninstalled all codecs, basically everything related to the program.

          I then ran Spoon's utility:http://forum.dbpoweramp.com/showthread.php?t=13285

Ok, it began to display the same problematic behavior after setting the option: "Prevent auto-run on all CD drives"

It took a lot of trouble shooting but aparently that was the problem. The reason the uninstall/reinstall worked was because that option was not enabled by default.

              Re: New Plextor 230A issue

              I had the same problem:

I enabled the "Prevent auto-run on all CD drives" option as suggested by the 'CD Ripper Guide' and dBpoweramp became extremely slow when selecting my PX-230A drive. The problem did not occur with a Sony Nec Optiarc and a PX-W2410A drive.

Not marking the option solved the PX-230A problem.

              Thank you, longhorn!

do you set this manually with this drive or do dbpoweramp automatically do this for you

IDE is just how the drive is connected to the motherboard.

SCSI Pass Though (SPT) is the communication option.
