    EAC/dbpoweramp different wave file size

Wave files created by EAC with accuraterip are always 10-20KB smaller than the same wave files created by dbpoweramp reference with accuraterip. Both software modules confirm an accurate rip.
Anyone knows the reason for the different size ?

Presumably RIFF chunks containing (or containing room for future) metadata or header information. Spoon would know specifically.

Yes we write ID Tags to the wave files (perfectly valid and allowed). This can be disabled under 'dBpoweramp Configuration >> Codecs >> Adavanced' if you wish.

Re: EAC/dbpoweramp different wave file size

OK - sorry for the noob question, but I previously ripped all my CD's (just over 700 so not trivial, and I know many people have more) in Wave using iTunes and my issue was lack of full tag support. Does Dbpoweramp write something to the wave file that other programs will read?

In my perfect world - I can make 100% exact copies of my CDs and pull in full tag info (including pictures), that I can play and covert to other formats (as needed) with out re-ripping all my CDs.

By this I mean "Perfect reproduction of the CD" with all associated information convertible on demand (in batch) with full tag info traveling with the conversion.

        Thanks (and looking to learn)!

        Happy Holidays!

We write tags to wav files, but not much will read them.

I tried to disable the wav id tagging.
But every time the options gets reset.

I changed (under Wave ID Tagging) Tag Creation to none and clicked ok.
After reopening the configuration, it's back to (default - LIST & ID3)

I also tried Tag Creation to none and under Encoder Options/Wave Encoder:
            Write Extensible Header to Never.
Both are reset to the default value after clicking on OK and reopening configuration.

Change for Wave64 which are using the same settings as wave.

                Thanks that worked.
Maybe in one of the next betas you could automatically change Wave64 settings if wave settings are changed?
Bit illogical to change the wave settings if someone changed the wave64 setting but not vice versa.

It is a bug in Wave64, was fixed but not sure if released.

According Codec Central and DBPA configuration I've the latest wave64 codec installed, so I think bugfix is not yet released.
