I guess I will have try firewire. My problem is that Dell core duo laptops are said to have trouble through firewire. Hopefully I don't have any issues. I am going to try the PX760A
I do most of my initial firewire device testing on a thinkpad without built in firewire - I have an ancient "IBM IEEE 1394 Cardbus Card" (TI-chipset OHCI controller) that uses custom cables to workaround the issue of connectors from one card interfering with the card above/below in the other slot.

      Well I have finished testing.

dBpoweramp cannot be trusted to test FUA properly. Tests results here:

Conclude the LITE-ON DVDRW LH-20A1P does not use the FUA command properly and errors have slipped through.

With earlier testing, it also seems the drive does not read into the leadin/out even through CDSpeed says so.

Such a pity as I through we had a winner!

        Hey,

        I've just ordered a PX-800A

This drive doesn't cache audio, has C2, and lead in lead out...

I'll do some tests when it arrives and let you know how it performs...

Are you sure it reads into the leadin/out?
I heard it was a re badged drive and as such does not read into the leadin/out.

          Thanks

WRT matching checksums when ripping into and skipping the offset, one possibility would be that the start/end of the disc contains zero
samples. if there are enough contiguous zeros to account for the
offset then the last/first (positive/negative offset) track ripped will
match when summed. if you have fill missing samples disabled then
an external comparison will fail though, as you would expect.

at least, i've noticed that many of my rips from my USB samsung match
those from my good ole overreading plextor 121032a. those that i
checked with hexdump seemed to confirm this.

Can highly recommend the Samsung SE-S204N.

              Doesn't cache audio.

              C2 pointers support.

              Cheap.

              Works for me.

For my recomendation and based on you suggestions I bought the Plextor Premium U (USB) and it works like charm.

                it does..
                Caching
                Fua Support
                C2 Pointers Support
Read Led in and Lead out
                Accurate Stream
                HTOA

Now I see the big audio different compare to my other CD drivers that I had(NEC and OEM eMachine)

                Thank you

Note: Cacheing is a *negative* attribute. But, from what I understand, only Plextors such as the above support FUA mode (means a drive that can turn caching off for audio reads), making the combination OK as long as the software supports it (dbpa does).
