Getting higher volume levels when applying RG

Hi

I used the Batch Converter to generate a copy of my library which is higher compressed and and also applied Replay Gain (Album) to be used in my car.
The tracks now sound equally loud. However, the absolute level seems to be much lower and switching back and forth between DAB radio and the music library is a huge difference now.
The MP3s now seem to have too much headroom and are too low in absolute level. The MP3s even do not sound as good as before because the audio system somehow limits/compresses the audio due to the higher volume setting needed.

Is there another recommended way of doing this?

When you add ReplayGain tags with the ReplayGain DSP, under advance settings you can change the LUFS value from the default of "-18" to something smaller (say, -12). This will reduce the volume less than -18. Play around with this value until you get volume adjustment that you like. Note that in almost all cases ReplayGain REDUCES volume because most modern CDs are mastered to be quite loud.

I read some more about it in various threads.
As far as I understood: As long as I do not disable clip-prevention I should be good with lower LUFS values down to a point where the clip-prevention kicks in on some albums ending up in actually not really getting equally loud results due to missing headroom to cover for all the various recordings.

For my further understanding:
I now recalculated my library with LUFS -12.
A sample from an old album with lower level (The Wall) now shows like:
RG_album_gain: +6.81
RG_album_peak: 1.039862
RG_track_gain: -1.08
RG_track_peak: 1.009668
Do I get that right that this track now actually will clip if I apply album gain for a copy to use in my car?

not sure. I've never paid that much attention to this, I don't disable clip prevention and all my players can use replaygain tags.

None of my current players (home, car) does use RG.
Anyhow, thanks for the help
