I would consider ARTISTSORT and ALBUMARTISTSORT to be the standard, there are loads of applications that do it this way.
Erho, can I ask why you moved away from MinimServer since it is very easy to use any field in MinimServer and also it has proper classical music support which seems to be what you want.
