Hi,
I'm trying out Asset UPnP, having got frustrated with all the other media servers that seem to treat audio as an afterthought
Server is on a Mac mini, running OSX 10.10.5.
My library is nearly all in ALAC format, and one device on the network, a Roberts Stream 83i, doesn't talk ALAC. With transcode settings on default, I get a decode error on the 83i. I don't quite understand this because, if I've read the manual correctly, the server should automatically offer FLAC, LPCM and WAV, all of which are supported by the 83i.
If I alter transcode settings to ".m4a as lpcm", the 83i is happy, but the other network device (iPhone -> Airport Express -> hifi) is silent. (I'd tell you more about that if I could find the log output!).
Am I missing something? And is there a way to specify transcode settings for a particular device? (I'm thinking of the way Plex uses device profiles for this.)
thanks,
tjh
