Dummies Guide To Metadata Fields For Compilation Albums

I know there are lots of other threads regarding this topic (many with conflicting information) but I wondered if there is a definitive guide (preferably from one of the development team) as to what metadata fields to set when ripping compilation albums?

I've used Asset ever since purchasing my first Linn streamer (originally Majik, now Akurate-Exakt) with a QNAP NAS & Linn's Kazoo app and have been really pleased with it.

My only real gripe is getting compilation CDs so that are (a) easy to find and (b) display the track name AND artist.

Ideally I would like all the albums that have the COMPILATION tag shown under an icon in the root display of my music (i.e. along with Artist/Album, Album, Title, Composer...) and then when viewing an album see both the track titles and artists displayed.

    Thanks in advance,

    Adrian

You would set Compilation to '1' and not set the album artist.

In asset you can browse >> Advanced Search >> Compilation >> '1' >>

Thanks Spoon; I've now tried that - the advanced search works but I still don't see track artists when viewing the album.

You need Asset R5 which is in the testing section of this forum.
