Hi. Have been using Free version for a while on trial successfully installed on my Toshiba laptop Win 7. Decided today to register for better version to make playlists etc. for use when taking away to my beach-house, but new version takes ages to load a track to play on my home theatre - approx. 1 minute at best, other times so long that I have to give up. I do have a big mp3 music collection of 5000+ tracks on my laptop, but free version seemed to handle OK - just new registered version seems to jam up. Any help or advice would be appreciated. Thanks. Re: Newly Registered Asset UPnP Very Slow To Respond and Sticks Playing on Home Theat
You were previously using R5.1 (free version)?
Have you tried doing a full reboot of Windows, to me this sounds like a wireless networking issue. -
Re: Newly Registered Asset UPnP Very Slow To Respond and Sticks Playing on Home Theat
Yes, I was originally using free version - not sure which release because I had to uninstall it to install the new registered version.
And if you mean shutting down and restarting my Win 7 laptop, yes I did this too - I didn't uninstall/reinstall Win 7 if that's what you mean by a full reboot.
And yes, I'm using a wireless network in my home - the both the laptop and the home theatre are connected wirelessly - but using the free version on the same laptop and the same network didn't have delays opening the tracks, and didn't "stick" during playback like the new version does.Comment

Try uninstalling Asset and reinstall the free version, I am sure this issue is not free / registered.Comment

If I uninstall the registered version, will I be able to re-install it later? I installed it straight from the internet, it didn't give me an option to save. Just need to check that I won't have to pay the $26 a second time.Comment

Re: Newly Registered Asset UPnP Very Slow To Respond and Sticks Playing on Home Theat
Home server is a specific version for Windows home serve, you not have this.
Run:
...also how to do a full reset of dBpoweramp? (if dBpoweramp crashes for some reason) Where does dBpoweramp save its files / settings? It is installed to c:\Program Files\Illustrate\dBpoweramp or c:\Program Files (x86)\Illustrate\dBpoweramp The 64 bit version of dBpoweramp is installed to: c:\Program Files\dBpoweramp It
Then reinstall free version and it will be the free version.Comment

Re: Newly Registered Asset UPnP Very Slow To Respond and Sticks Playing on Home Theat
OK, reinstall free version done. Configuration window says Version: Release 5.1 Functionality: Free (Limited).
Then shows Status: Library Contains 0 Tracks, 0 Albums. Try to click on Rescan Library buttons Refresh All - get "Rescanning Shortly...(Refreshing Library), and Detecting Changes - get "Rescanning Shortly...(Detecting Changes).
I remember when I installed the registered version I saw it keep refreshing the counts of Tracks and Albums while it was scanning - ended up at 6000+ tracks. But this doesn't seem to be happening again on Free Version. Tried to play a Track on Home Theatre, said Not Available or similar. Will try rebooting all three, Laptop, Modem and Home Theatre and try againComment

Re: Newly Registered Asset UPnP Very Slow To Respond and Sticks Playing on Home Theat
Rebooted my laptop and modem, got a Network Error restarting my laptop - Windows has detected an IP address conflict - Anther computer on this network has the same IP address as this computer.
So I ran the Asset UPnP Configuration again from the Start Menu, and it had Asset Running Mode ""Service" pre-selected - NOT "Local Account (recommended). So I selected "Local Account" and clicked Restart Asset button, Status changed to "Not Running" then back to Library Contains 0 Tracks, 0 Albums.
Over on the Home Theatre, on the Music Menu I now see 3 Instances of Asset UPnP-User PC., 2 seemingly inactive and 1 seemingly active (shows your logo in bright). And when I try to find a track to play, I get "There is no playable file".Comment

Do a full restart of your PC. If you music is somewhere other than your local music folder, you need to set the location on the advanced configuration page.Comment

OK, went in to Advanced Configuration, and Audio Library view was empty, so clicked on Add Folder and after a while it added my Music Library folders. Looks like it is scanning library now - up to 2500 TRacks.Comment

Re: Newly Registered Asset UPnP Very Slow To Respond and Sticks Playing on Home Theat
Now seem to have Asset UPnP Free running on my laptop, Status shows Library Contains 6531 Tracks, 0 Albums - not sure why it shows 0 Albums though.
But over on the Home Theatre, on the Music Menu I still see 3 Instances of Asset UPnP-User PC., 2 seemingly inactive and 1 seemingly active (shows your logo in bright). And when I try to find a track to play, I get "There is no playable file".Comment
