    Problem updating to R2026-7-13

It may well be simply some fundamental error/misunderstanding on my part, but I don't understand why the update is failing...

from the web interface, it offers a direct link to R2026-7-13

I click on this, and I get a local download saved titled "getupdate"

This appears to be a compressed file. When I attempt to extract it, I get "an error occurred while extracting files. Command exited abnormally"

So I'm somewhat in the dark with this at present.

There's a glitch in the install script, that causes it to get stuck waiting for Asset to finish starting (script not updated for changed configuration data location).
You can safely stop the script with Ctrl+C or equivalent at the point it prints "Starting Asset", it's installed and running.

We have update the ARM (Pi) and Linux installs to fix the install script not finishing. Same version number, just redownload. Note QNAP, Synology, macOS has not changed at this point.

I confirm I update the Linux version flawlessly. I noticed the logo on web UI has been changed.

                  Thanks again for quick fix.

so, still not sure what I'm doing wrong...

clicking on the URL shown in the web interface, even just now, seems to download a file called "getupdate". Yet I still cannot successfully extract this file.

Have I missed some permalink regarding upgrades? Don't understand why this is problematic.

Your security for the web browser is set to too high levels blocking the download.

either reset to default or install 2nd browser to download install.

As of now, there is a new R2026-07-15 version, is it the same fix as R2026-07-13 with only a new date ?

I don't think I've explained my issue correctly.

I can download the update. This creates a file ~/Downloads/getupdate which is a gzip.

Once I go to the download location, and try to "extract here" this very file then attempts to overwrite itself... and despite whichever option I try, I always get "an error occurred while extracting files"

It is possibly not a proper download. Anyhow rename to .tgz and try to extract.
