Gapless Playback with Wattson Audio Emerson Analog

    Hi All

    First post so be gentle.....

I have had Asset installed on a MacMini acting as a server for years now and gapless playback has never been a problem until now. I previously had a Primare NP5 going to a Chord Hugo2 DAC which inserted a gap between continuous tracks and the same now happens with the Emerson. Both are meant to handle gapless playback. Have I somehow adjusted the settings in Asset to cause this? Or is it the Emerson?

    Many thanks

    Neil

The UPnP server does not handle gapless, the player does, by reading the next stream before the end of the previous one.

      Hi Spoon

Thanks for getting back to me.

So if I understand you correctly the streamer is responsible for the gapless playback. Nothing to do with Asset?

      Thanks

The control point also has to support gapless playback. What app are you using to browse AssetUPnP?

If you're on Android try BubbleUPnP and enable 'Gapless control' under Settings > Renderers settings > <<Emerson>>.

If you're on iOS try mconnect, and enable gapless playback by:
          • Select the Emerson renderer from 'Play to' tab
          • Switch to the 'Player' tab
          • Select the cog in the top left corner of the screen
          • Select 'Gapless'
          • Enable 'Gapless to Renderer'
