How do Asset's sort options relate to the artistsort and albumartistsort fields

I have been playing with setting my own albumartistsort and artistsort fields but I cannot quite get them to work the way I want them to on my Asset server. Can someone explain how Asset uses (if at all) the albumartistsort and artistsort fields?

You would have to look at the configuration page, what is set for the sort handling. Note the sort values should be the same for every track as per artist, you can use PerfectTUNES to globally set a sort based on an artist. After changing you would also have to do a rescan (refresh all) in asset.
