I searched and searched for Asset UPnP Synology upgrade instructions but came up empty. Are there no instructions on how to do this? I don't want to lose all the configuration work I have already done.

Uninstall Asset, then install the registered version, no settings are lost. -
I apologize about wrong answer given by Spoon. I'm afraid your settings are gone, unless full NAS filesystem was somehow backed up.
However, all well behaved NAS apps work this way - there's no distinct way of wiping leftovers, uninstalling the app clears its container with all its settings. If a NAS apps left their settings behind, it would be considered a bad behavior. You can't uninstall apps and expect their settings to stick.
I wrote a FAQ post to prevent future incidents-
MAC/QNAP/Synology/Linux Do NOT uninstall Asset when planning to upgrade. In case of QNAP/Synology, it erases whole container and all settings. This is true not just for Asset but for all well behaved NAS applications, uninstalling should clear all application specific data from your unit. Always install new version on top of
Also, upcoming major update of Asset will let you export/import full backup of settings, to prevent exactly this & allow easy migration between devices.Comment
