MAC/QNAP/Synology/Linux
Do NOT uninstall Asset when planning to upgrade. In case of QNAP/Synology, it erases whole container and all settings. This is true not just for Asset but for all well behaved NAS applications, uninstalling should clear all application specific data from your unit.
Always install new version on top of existing Asset installation.
Installing registered on top of trial/beta will upgrade to registered.
Installing trial/beta on top of registered will retain registered status - you can use trial/beta versions as updates for registered and it will continue to function as registered.
Synology specific
If you wish to downgrade to older Asset version, Synology will block installation of package with lower version number.
To work around it, use "backup & restore" part of Asset configuration to download backup of Asset configuration, uninstall + reinstall Asset, restore settings back.
