Problems w/Replay Gain and multi-channel streaming

I'm using Asset 4.1 to stream FLAC files (both 2 channel and multi-channel). Files are stored on an HP WHS and are being sent to a NetGear NeoTV 550, which is connected via HDMI to my AVR. A few issues have arisen.

First, my FLAC files play via Asset on the NetGear only if I set Asset to transcode the files as WAV. That's not a problem, esp. bec. I want to apply replay gain and (as I learned from a prior post), the transcoding is thus necessary. Unfortunately, when I check replay gain in Asset's settings (as well as set the preamp controls to -3), I get nothing but white noise. If I uncheck replay gain, the files play fine. Any suggestions to solve that issue?

Second, w/regard to multi-channel. The NetGear definitely plays multi-channel when it accesses the server via NFS or SMB. But, when I try to access the multi-channel files via Asset, I get white noise. Any setting in Asset that I can tweak to fix this issue?

    Thanks.

It is possible the netgear cannot play 24 bit, or multi channel wave files.

That's not the issue - the NetGear plays 24 bit and multi channel WAV. Any other suggestions that I might take?

Also, I noticed another issue. The NetGear can play gaplessly when streaming from NFS or SMB. But, via Asset, I'm getting gaps between tracks - even consecutive tracks from a single album. Makes playing live concert albums particularly annoying. Any ideas as to why that might be the case?

Finally, I solved the replay gain issue by unchecking the box for "increase to 24 bit."

        UPnP is not gapless.

Forgive my ignorance, but, even if UPnP isn't gapless, is DLNA gapless (don't really know if there's a difference, but, on my NetGear, when I connect to Asset, it shows as a DLNA link).

Also, your initial assessment that the NetGear may not play 24 bit WAV proved correct. Sorry I disagreed. Though the documentation for the device states that it can play 24 bit WAV, I converted a 24 bit FLAC to 24 bit WAV just to test and the NetGear couldn't play the WAV file. At this point, I've given up on the NetGear (despite it's quite overstated claim to be the "ultimate media player") and am accessing Asset via an Oppo BD 93, which also shows as a DLNA link. All's well except for the gap issue (which may not be capable of resolution if gapless isn't a feature of either UPnP or DLNA).

            DLNA is not gapless either.
