I have other albums and songs in chinese, jap and korean and they turn out displaying as ?????? on my Naim n_stream (ipad), is there a setting to workaround this? Thanks!

First try a control point which for sure can display unicode, such as Asset Control (see beta section this forum)

It is likely your tags are not stored as Unicode, so they cannot contain the extra information.

I actually have seen a very similar problem.
The AlbumArtist and Solists tags for an album has multi-value sets with the first entry "van Dam , José".
After ripping and immediately copying to Asset (no intervening editors) all of the values in teh two tags show up in Asset except the first entry as shown above.
For one track I changed "van Dam , José" to "van Dam , Jose". Now "van Dam , Jose" shows up in Album Artis and Solists lists in Asset for the album ,but only (as expected) for the one track.
I have not had time to do any other exhaustive testing, but this one was pretty simple and demonstrated the problem pretty visibly.
I do see other values in Solists and AlbumArtists in Asset with characters like é,ä,ê,ö,ü, and so on. But, I have yet to find one where the last character in the name string is anything other than A-Z or a-z (no special marks of course).
I did use various means, such as metaflac.exe, to verify that the names with the letters like é,ä,ê,ö,ü, and so on are definately showing up in the tag blocks as they should.

I see, is there any way I can work around it? Like some settings I can do?

            Thanks.

You would have to retag the files using a program which can write Unicode tags.
