I've noticed when using Crossover and Asset, when making changes to the music folder locations it just sits and does nothing. I'm a retailer of the Linn DS products. We also write a blog about hifi gear and computer music. http://www.pearlaudiovideo.com/blog I'm preparing a blog about the Linn DS setup and how to get the best and most consistent results with a step by step outline when using the OSX platform. I'm most interested in using Asset as the media server due to the support and updates that you, Spoon Da Man offer. But in my research I'm finding inconsistencies in its operation. I've installed it based on the instruction provided exactly. And yes, "Service" is always selected. For example, when I make a change under "Advanced Settings>>Edit" to the folder location of music then click "Ok" in the "Advanced Settings" dialog, nothing seems to happen. One would think that under "Status" we would see the tracks and albums count change. I click "Reset Asset" and the "Status" indicator displays "Not Running". So I wait, and I wait and nothing happens. So I click it again but nothing happens. The next thing I try is click "Ok" and the "Asset UPnP Configuration" dialog closes. I then quit Crossover and restart. Then I use Crossover's drop down menu and select "Programs>>Asset UPnP>>Asset Configuration" to bring up the "Asset UPnP Configuration" dialog window. Then the "Status" will read the count of the previous folder I had selected, not the current one. Uhg! So I repeat this process a few times and eventually I get things to work. Am I to assume Asset works better with a true Window OS. Is the fact that Asset is running on Crossover create delays in Assets response time? I'm not even sure there are issues with Asset. It could just be my lack of understanding exactly how it works and responds. Any help to make this a more streamline process would be much appreciated and added pluses to consumers considering an Asset purchase.
