The latest firmware 3.0-1354

Not sure about 3.0-1354.

The latest official firmware for the BDP-83 is BDP83-50-0424.

To get LPCM streaming working you need to install one of the the beta releases, the latest being BDP83-54-0130B.

I followed the suggestion from a AVS member and change all the file type to transcoded to LPCM instead of "just the flac and wav transcoded to LPCM", it works! I can see all the flac files and able to play it. Quality wise is only ok:cry: comparing to my other cheap media player that can play native flac and playing the CD directly on the OPPO.

My setup is

PC (Asset UPNP) -> OPPO83SE -> (SPDIF) -> W4S Dac2-> JF pre-> JF model 2 Amp.

PC is a Gigabyte MB with E6500, 4GB ram, XP-sp3

PC is connected to a gigaswitch(1) then to the router
OPPO is connected gigaswitch(2)
Cat 5 cable between the gigaswitchs 1 & 2

My setup is

Try connecting the analog outputs (multi and stereo) from the OPPO direct to your amp.

The OPPO BDP-83 Special Edition uses the state-of-the-art Sabre32 family of Digital-to-Analog Converters (DAC) from ESS Technology.

Hi MVille,
The W4S Dac-2 also use the same chip.

What I will try is to use the uPlayer on the same PC with the Asset Control and see how it will turn out.
