Asset R4.5.1 for Linux & OSX

    Change log
    • OSX: New prettier DMG, no longer broken on old OSX versions.
    • OSX: Fixed OSX Snow Leopard compatibility issues, adding/removing watched folders no longer crashes.
    • OSX: Fixed OSX network share handling; will auto mount referenced network shares automatically after a reboot.
    • All: Fixed a bug in realtime MP3 encoding, no more lag when serving realtime MP3 encoded content.
    • All: Speed optimizations, improved handling of very large libraries.
    • All: Changed the way codecs are included (now all in one monolithic binary), smaller distribution size.
    • Linux: Improved compatibility with varying Linux distros.
    • QNAP: Should now run on x31 and x41 models where Asset R4.5 did not work.

    QNAP note
Do not uninstall the old version before installing new, let QPKG upgrade the existing install.
When installing a trial/beta version over registered, your registration status will be retained; the beta will function as registered.
There used to be issues with QNAP QPKG not updating Asset correctly, these should now be gone; if they persist, bug reports are welcome.

Installed 4.5.1 OS X beta over existing 4.5 registered, but this shows "Trial 30 days remaining".
-> Is the above underlined passage applicable for QNAP only or should this function on Apple (I use Yosemite 10.10.4) as well ?

I'm sorry but registration status retain applies to QNAP version only and is tied to how our custom QNAP installer works. We'll note it as a feature request for the other versions.

          Hi,

I found in the OS X Version of 4.5.1 the old 0 tracks - 0 Albums Problem (if link to Music library on NAS is broken the automatic refresh leads to this result). The fact that the program waits during it's start until the server link has been established is a valueable improvement. I remember that this issue had been solved in an earlier version (not sure whether under Windows only) but seems as being meanwhile lost again. Please investiagte.

            Hi,
are there plans of general availability of 4.5.1 or do you plan to make available a 5.x instead ?

Any idea about availability date ?
