I think http://www.download.com is a nice site for softwares and stuffs.

That's a good site, although most of the stuff there is not free anymore. Lots of free trial versions, still.

http://www.freewarefiles.com has many free softwares
http://www.downloadlab.com is also a nice site. But everything is not free there.
