Main changes:

• Changes in your music library are picked up much faster than in previous versions.
• Improved indexing of external cover art. No more clear database & rescan all to pick up newly added folder.jpg
• Configuration backup & restore feature, can be also used to transfer config between machines.
• Database format changed - will require full rescan after upgrading from a previous version.
• Added [SimpleArtist] to control point overrides, for control points that have trouble with presented artist roles (composer/performer/etc).
• More formats supported: TAK, SHN, WMA among others.
• Added support for HLS internet radio.

Build 2024-02-09 changes:

• Amended [SimpleArtist] behavior, sends ONLY upnp:artist info, prevents other artist fields from being sent.

Build 2024-02-14 changes:

• Stability fixes.
• Fixed SPK being impossible to install due to rejected version numbering.

Build 2024-03-15 changes:

• Implemented search by composer, used by Linn app as "classical" search results.
• Changed interaction between multi disc album handling options. Album defined by folder set to YES + Combine Multi-Disc Albums no longer tries to merge albums in different folders if folder names look like multiple parts of same set.

Install on top of registered (without uninstalling!) to use beta as registered.

Have fun using it.
If there's STILL some scenario where Asset can't pick library changes without clear database cycle, please report it and I'll investigate.

Does this include the fix for [SimpleArtist] as discussed previously?

My understanding is that it should just send the track artist (<upnp:artist>Artist1</upnp:artist>) as per the overrides description in the documentation.

[SimpleArtist] to not supply composer, conductor or album artist (only artist) for track details to player

[SimpleArtist] override is present. If it doesn't work as intended / still has compatibility issues, please report and I'll review it.

I've just installed the beta on Linux to have a quick look and there doesn't appear to have been any change, <dc:creator> is still the only artist tag present, where we would also expect to see <upnp:artist></upnp:artist> (not the role="AlbumArtist" tag).

I'm not sure if you ever got to the bottom of this behaviour too:

[i]Regarding modified title and changed album display-
={no-identification} is not behaving as documented and values specified there were affecting your controlpoint until you added a special section for it. It currently affects control points not maching specific criteria, not control points not sending any identification.
This results in unrelated behavior changes from just adding a new section for the controlpoint. To work around, duplicate lines from ={no-identification} in =OPPO PLAYER.
I'm not sure what this was changed for, searching change logs now.

Regarding [SimpleArtist]-
I made it send just dc:creator and strip everything else. Since that doesn't work for your control point, I'm changing it to send upnp:artist instead, per old discussion.

Regarding ={no-identification}
It has been this way since at least 2017, I can't just change it, it would suddenly change behaviors of existing working configurations.
We're changing the doc to say the right thing.

Installed on RPi2 (32-bit ARM), rescanning of entire library was certainly faster with r8 structure.
Noticed some new settings, namely &*8220;Fill missing Album Artist tags&*8221;.
Will advise, as library changes and changes are picked up.

Try downloading it again, you might only have half the install.

I've tried downloading and installing at least 3 times and still get the same error. Here's a screenshot showing the consistent file size between two downloaded files. Could the Synology file be corrupt?

Asset no longer supports Synology DSM 6.x, because I don't have a DSM6 machine to test Asset on, and there's no downgrade path from DSM 7.x.
Please stick with old Asset versions if you run DSM 6.x.

Hi PeterP, If your reply about DSM 6.x was to me, my DS1821+ was running DSM Version: 7.2.1-69057 Update 3 for the first 2 times I tried to install this beta and Version: 7.2.1-69057 Update 4 the last two times I tried to install it.

These control points are just blindly taking the first/last (WiiM Android/iOS) upnp:artist so that will work.

Hi PeterP, If your reply about DSM 6.x was to me, my DS1821+ was running DSM Version: 7.2.1-69057 Update 3 for the first 2 times I tried to install this beta and Version: 7.2.1-69057 Update 4 the last two times I tried to install it.

Fixed in today's build, thanks for reporting.
