    External Drive Failing to Rip - Win8

    When my internal CD/DVD drive failed I purchased an LG BE14NU40 BluRay USB3.0 drive. I can play audio and video from the drive. But I cannot rip from the drive. This is the sort of error I get for every track:

    Error ripping to FLAC, 'Track 2' to 'C:\Users\ChadHarrisonFord\Music\Amy Winehouse\Back To Black\02 Amy Winehouse - You Know I'm No Good.flac'
    Unable to read CD, check CD disc (frame LBA 16121 ripping 26 frames track end LBA 35410) [clRipperSecure::Rip]

    I have switched between all of my USB3.0 and USB2.0 ports; no luck. I have switched between CDs I've ripped previously with the internal drive and CDs I haven't ripped at all (they're piling up!). I've tried ripping in Multi-Encoder or just FLAC or MP3; no luck. I've tried ripping to different hard drives on my PC; no luck.

    Having discovered a similar issue with an external drive in the forums I did as Spoon recommended and set the Debug on. The following is the output. Would someone assist in reading this and, perhaps, determining a solution?

    Try CD Ripper >> Options >> Communication set to 'Windows internal'

    Spoon,

    I set the Option as you suggested and tried it again...It failed. The debug follows:

    Splitting Command Line:Done
    ->-> [dBCoreConverter::ReaddBCommandFile]
    <-<- [dBCoreConverter::ReaddBCommandFile]
    Allying to Processor 1
    ->-> [cldBCodecHandler::LoadEncoder]
    Loading Encoder 'C:\Program Files\dBpoweramp\encoder\FLAC.DLL'
    <-<- [cldBCodecHandler::LoadEncoder]
    BatchID [clEncoder::Set]
    ->-> [dBCoreConverter::StripCoreConverterCmds]
    <-<- [dBCoreConverter::StripCoreConverterCmds]
    SendRawUnCompressed [clEncoder::Get]
    Communicate [clEncoder::Get]
    ->-> [dBCoreConverter::OpenDecoder]
    Reading StdIn Tmp File IDTags: Read
    Using StdInput WFX:Format Tag: 1 Channels: 2 Bits per Sample: 16 Samples Per Second: 44100 Bytes Per Second: 176400 Block Align: 4 CB Size: 0
    <-<- [dBCoreConverter::OpenDecoder]
    SendOverReplayGainTags [clEncoder::Get]
    ->-> [clEncoder::BeginConversion]
    Converting to 'C:\Users\ChadHarrisonFord\Music\Amy Winehouse\Back To Black\01 Amy Winehouse - Rehab.flac.tmp.flac' encoder settings ' -compression-level-5'
    FLAC Compression Level: 5
    <-<- [clEncoder::BeginConversion]
    Communicate [clEncoder::Get]
    Encoding To: FLAC
    Encoder Cmd Line: -compression-level-5
    ============= CONVERSION BEGIN =============
    ============= CONVERSION END =============
    Communicate [clEncoder::Get]
    ->-> [dBCoreConverter::CloseDecoder]
    ->-> [dBCoreConverter::CloseDecoder]
    <-<- [dBCoreConverter::CloseDecoder]
    ->-> [clEncoder::EndConversion]
    <-<- [clEncoder::EndConversion]
    File Size Check (before overwrite final): 2635646 bytes Filename: C:\Users\ChadHarrisonFord\Music\Amy Winehouse\Back To Black\01 Amy Winehouse - Rehab.flac.tmp.flac
    Communicate [clEncoder::Get]
    Conversion completed in 8.9 seconds x24 realtime encoding
    File Size Check (core converter exit): 83296 bytes Filename: C:\Users\ChadHarrisonFord\Music\Amy Winehouse\Back To Black\01 Amy Winehouse - Rehab.flac

    Any guidance would be appreciated.

    Can any other program rip with this drive?

    None can. They all fail.
