    dBpoweramp R14.4 BETA

    Download:

    <released>

    Note Registered users, install over the top of the existing version (do not uninstall older) to retain registration status.

    Changes:

    Allows multi item tags to be stored in non standard fields, for example Arranger Item1; Item2 would be split when stored into FLAC
    m4a tagging could set an Explicit or other rating by mistake
    m4a tagging would display a title of 'ABC/DEF' as 2 split titles
    mp3 tagging, better compatibility for ANSI & date with year
    mp3 tagging, standard compliant behavior that most software does not support is now opt-in
    mp3 tagging lyrics mapping fixed
    mp3 tagging 'initial key' implemented
    new command line -sourceisfloat for coreconverter.exe (also allows multi-encoder to send floating point to an encoder)

    AIFF tagging fix (could indicate file was corrupted)
    FLAC tagging bug fix, was writing ';' for comment when had multi-lines
    FLAC tagging METADATA_BLOCK_PICTURE read as artwork (outside the flac tagging spec...)

    bug fix: [IF!EQUALS] was not working correctly
    bug fix: wave id3 tagging fix (where could write an extra byte to the end of the file, giving a warning on wave decode)
    bug fix: converting wave (LIST + id3 tagged file) >> wave would only write (id3 tag)
    bug fix: m4a tag writer was inefficient when trying to trim a huge tag (image as base64, for example) down to the allowed 255 chars
    bug fix: a badly corrupted FLAC file could cause the converter to terminate encode based on timeout, not reported errors
    bug fix: cd ripper - if reading ISRC and was not present for a track, then track+1 would not have ISRC read either
    bug fix: cd ripper, batch converter, would default their positions if moved to a certain display (on multi monitor systems)

    After ripping to flac, MP3Tag does not recognize the following tags as multi-value tags:

    Artist Sort
    Album Artist Sort
    ComposerSort
    SoloistsSort

    Artist, Album Artist, Composer, Genre, Style and Soloists are recognized as multi-value tags.

    Please advise.

    Perhaps a limitation of mp3tag? drop a flac file on to notepad to look at the raw tag, you should see:

    Artist Sort=item1
    Artist Sort=item2

    as seperate items. If they are, dBpoweramp is writing correctly.

    That's my point. They are not being written correctly as multi-value tags.

    example, ComposerSort is written as

    ComposerSort=Murphy, Peter; Ash, Daniel; Haskins, David J.; Haskins, Kevin

    when it should be
    ComposerSort=Murphy, Peter
    ComposerSort=Ash, Daniel
    ComposerSort=Haskins, David J.
    ComposerSort=Haskins, Kevin

    This was working correctly as of R14.0

    Just tested ripping to mp3 and as far as I can tell, none of the tags are written as multi-value tags.

    Update 6th November

    FLAC tagging METADATA_BLOCK_PICTURE read as artwork (outside the flac tagging spec...)
    AIFF tagging modification, previous R14.3 tagging issue should be doubly fixed now...

    mville - the mp3 you sent, all tags had correct multi delimiters '/' except TSOC (composersort), but our codec writes that correctly, I think what has happened is it is stored in a source format with '; ' and it gets written out as such. Our tag editor would only update the field it you edit the line.

    Same also applies to your FLAC file.

    The mp3 was created by CDRipper. Can you explain why the composersort is different to the other multi-value tags?

    Also, the the flac was created with CDRipper. The flac was opened in notepad and the raw tag shows:

    ComposerSort=Murphy, Peter; Ash, Daniel; Haskins, David J.; Haskins, Kevin

    not as separate items as you advised in post no. 5. All my other multi-value tags named xxxx Sort are the same and are not as you previously advised as

    xxxx Sort=item1
    xxxx Sort=item2

    Please advise. TIA.

    Tried CDRipper to flac and mp3 with no DSPs and the resulting tags are the same as outlined earlier.

    Browse to and delete the folder: DecoderCache:

    Deleted the registry key and re-ripped to mp3 and flac. The resulting tags are still the same as before.

    mville: lets find out what is happening with flac first, take a FLAC file with has no ID Tags, (or an existing tagged file and delete the tags), then right click on the FLAC File >> Edit ID Tag

    Add ComposerSort and give it a value: comp1; comp2

    then look at the file in notepad, what does it show please?
