I understand that there is no current way in looking at tags to tell HDCD discs were decoded via the HDCD DSP effect when writing mp3 files after ripping. FLAC files with HDCD decoding will show as 24 bits when viewing tag fields, but all mp3 files will show as 16 bits regardless of HDCD decoding.
I understand that the log file of a rip will tell me if HDCD was detected and if I requested that HDCD be decoded, but this does not indicate if any decoding was in fact done or not.
Writing a comment tag would seem to do the trick, or least be an improvement over the current situation. thanks!
