Are you sure that your DVD player supports flac files or does it only play mp3 cdroms and standard audio cds?

Most DVD players support mp3 I'm not sure any support flac.

Did you tell it to burn an Audio disc or a data disc?

yes with this writer i did tell it to burn a data.. disc..

the freebie burner must have changed the flac to cda. so now iv realised that my dvd doesnt play flac's .. and evidently there are very few that do.. thanks..

the .cda indicates that the write you used must have created an audio disc.

What happens if you pop one of those discs into you PC does CD Ripper recognise them as an audio disc?

Re: flac playback in dvd player

the ripper accepts the disc.. but i cant see where it tells me what format..

but when i look at the tracks with windows its telling me they are cda. so they look like they were changed from flac to cda. on the freebie burner

The presence of .cda files indicates that you have created an audio CD.

Try with one you have bought you should see the same thing.

BTW The CD ripper wouldn't have accepted/recognised anything but an audio cd.

                    flac playback in dvd player

not sure if it will work in a dvd player byt the openCD project uses a auto start program, which are essentially a series of html files.. google this and see if it matches your needs
