Spoon - How about if I convert from FLAC to ALAC for playing in itunes and then from ALAC to AAC to play on ipod. To the best of your knowledge, should this work?

The only program / device which has a problem with some ALAC files from dBpoweramp is the iPod.

dBpoweramp and iTunes can read the files fine, so ALAC to aac will not be a problem with any program.

I'm sorry but I didn't understand your response. If I convert from FLAC to ALAC and then to AAC, will the AAC files play on the ipod?

Spoon said that only the iPod has trouble with dMC-created ALAC files. So yes, converting to AAC to play on the iPod should work just fine.

Nice work, as always! :smile2: This particular codec is what got me hooked on DMC in the first place -- no other utility I've come across comes close when it comes to encoding/decoding high-bitrate m4a & aac with such ease & versatility.
