I'd like the metadata popout window in CDRipper to do two things:
1) be able to add additional tags here rather than in the small panel at the bottom of the main windows - this would allow those additional metadata tags to be filled in from the online sources, where available, and edited in one place rather than two
2) be able to point CDRipper to a directory rather than a disc drive, and then have the metadata window read the existing metadata in addition to pulling in the tags from the online sources, for comparison and editing.
Like many people, my tagging has evolved over the years that I've been ripping CDs. And while I can do some of this with scripting tools, hand editing the values for new tags or wrong tag values, file by file, is laborious.
Edit: this might also be done as an enhancement to PerfectTunes, since it's more in the spirit of that products. But it might be easier to extend the CDRipper metadata reader/editor to do this.
Thanks,
Doug
