Hi!
This is not so much a wish for a feature as much as a wish for a new software (and a plea for someone to help me find one, if such a thing already exist).
The idea I just got is that it would be really neat to have a stream server which could reencode files on-the-fly at a lower bitrate (preset by the server admin) to allow better control of bandwidth usage when streaming as well as make streaming itself feasable (streaming a 320 kbps MP3 is risky is you don't have a lightning fast connection).
I really long for something like that!..
Anyone know if such a software exist? or maybe we could get our very own dBpowerAMP Stream Server (hence dSS!)
