When ripping to MP3, the totals are written in the Track Number and Disc Number tags, not the Total Tracks and Total Discs tags.

When ripping to FLAC, the totals are written Total Tracks and Total Discs tags, not the Track Number and Disc Number tags.

The Total Tracks and Total Discs tags are not shown in Edit ID-Tag but the totals do show in the Track (01/15) and Disc (1/1) fields.

In "Review Metadata" there doesn't seem to be a differentiation between round & square brackets.
    There no longer is.

    RE: CD Ripper R14 27 July 2010.
OK, I have discovered that R13 does not store all inserted CD's into the CDRipperCache.bin. Shame.
There is an option in R14 (meta drop menu >> settings) for setting the size of the dBpoweramp cache, normally it will hold a couple of discs depending on art size.

When ripping CD to flac, the track number field is written without the track count and the disc number is written without the disc count even though both options under Meta Data & ID Tag Options are unticked.

Unicode is there since R12, make sure in dBpoweramp Configuration, codecs >> advanced that id3v2 tags are set to 'unicode'. Also when running configuration, make sure the user account it is running in is administrator.

There is an option under Options >> Meta to limit to 750x750 by default, you can change to what ever you like.

    hey spoon,

installed the new beta and like the choose album art feature, but it still seems to restrict the image size? with cover flow on large screens and ipads displaying art, it would be nice to have the option to embed larger resolution album art.

    RE: CD Ripper R14 27 July 2010.

Occasionally, I need to pull in data from the cdplayer.ini.

However, when I use the 'Retrieve From cdplayer.ini (local)' option in Meta drop-down, nothing happens.

CD Ripper is writing successfully to the cdplayer.ini, however.

I just installed the latest beta, and am looking for profiles in music converter. I enabled them in configuration. I look in the encoder box, and see nothing but the various encoders -- nothing about creating or selecting a profile. There's nothing about profiles anywhere, as best I can tell.

I will be ripping 1500+ CD's. Once my edits to Meta data have been entered, I would like them to be saved locally (forever) as the PerfectMeta databases are not totally accurate for so many CD's.

Spoon, is this an option that you would consider in R14? Something like, Is CD in local database? If yes, load meta data from local database, If no, load meta data using PerfectMeta databases etc. Then, make any further additions/changes and save to local database.

I'm so happy to have FLAC tag support as a shell extension in Windows Explorer for Windows 7. That's a small but great feature added. Thanks.

    RE:dBpoweramp Music Converter R14 27 July 2010 version

I'm having trouble with the latest CD Ripper. Here's the scenario:

Last 2 days I have been testing CD Ripper with FLAC and MP3 tag writing, using only 2 CD's (Bee Gees, Their Greatest Hits: The Record, Discs 1 and 2).

Initially, inserting Disc 1, PerfectMeta gets all info. Next, I manually make small changes, fix errors with the PerfectMeta data, drag and drop the artwork. CD is ejected and Disc 2 is inserted. PerfectMeta gets all info and I again make all my manual changes.

On subsequent insertion of Disc 1 or Disc 2, my edits are recognised. Am I right in thinking these changes are being stored in CDRipperCache.bin?

Eventually however, my manual changes get overwritten with what seems to be the original PerfectMeta data I got on the initial disc insertion lookup, even though I do not perform any manual retreive of Meta data.

Please can someone explain how to avoid subsequent Perfectdata lookups otherwise I will lose all manual changes OR explain where I going wrong here?
