... access the checksums in the database directly?

I use linux, so I am thinking that I could generate my own checksums and compare them to the database. How can I access them? Do I have to deal with drive offsets as well? Thanks in advance.

There might already be tools written which can do this, it is very complex with offsets to do this Post ripping, also there are pressing offsets.
