Volume control missing from task bar

I tired many of the fixes listed , registry changes and downloads.

Then I finally found out what causes the volume control to disappear.
In my case it was not malware, or corrupt files, or viruses.

THE CAUSE IS WINDOWS AUTOMATIC LOG-ON

If you have your machine set to log on automatically, or if you are the only user, sooner or later Windows will skip the file necessary to load the volume control icon in the task bar.

To fix this just log off, not shut down, and log in again.

So far my icon is still back and working, after 3 boots.

In closing, this may not work for every missing icon, but I would recommend single user profile machines try this fix before any alterations are made to the registry.

I finally found this out by downloading a task bar repair software and that was all it had to say about fixing the problem I had. I'm surprised at how many different ways there are to fix this problem yet no one even suggests trying to log off and log in again.

    Thank you for listening,
I had to get this on the internet before we all reload Windows again.
