Multi-Disc and Compilation Check Boxes?

Hello, I could not find info on these boxes. If I missed it somewhere please let me know! What are the Multi-Disc and Compilation check boxes used for in the naming dialogue? Additionally, to check I ran a test and as soon as I got out of that screen and went back to look the Compilation box had cleared itself from the current sync setup. Curious as to why?

They just set the examples if there is a multi disc, or compilation disc. The values are not saved.
