Album Art not remembered if tagging is disabled

Hi,

When I set PerfectTUNES Album Art to just store the cover art file (front.jpg) and disable the Embed Art tagging then the software doesn't remember the updates. Each time I re-open the app it scans all albums and reports no artwork. Even so it has actually saved all front.jpg files just fine during the previous run.

As soon as I allow it to embed the file it does remember the updates correctly.

Are you using Windows? We tested and cannot reproduce.

Hi Spoon,

Yes, latest Windows 10 Pro for Workstations build and PerfectTUNES 3.2 (licensed). My data is on an ReFS mirror.

This is what I have done:

1) Added two folders and ran a test scan.
2) Changed settings to Embed and Save file. I named it cover.jpg
3) Then I fixed some albums.
I then revised my method and
4) disabled tagging and changed the image name to front.jpg
5) This is when it stopped working.

I then tried:
Removing Paths
Clearing caches
Adding only 1 path, then both again
Changing image back to cover.jpg

As soon as I enable tagging it works just fine. I should mention that all the albums have no embedded art at all. Just the front.jpg in the album folder.

Added paths are:
m:\MEDIA\_TEMP_FLAC
m:\MEDIA\_SRC_LOSSY

This is because 'front.jpg' is not a standard anyone uses, so PerfectTUNES will not read it. (folder.jpg, cover.jpg and [artist].jpg are the standards)

Hi,

I disagree about what the standard is, unless you mean it's a TUNES standard. Anyway, I'd say it doesn't matter anyway. I am given the option to modify the naming but the software only honours that custom naming during writing but not when scanning. Therefore I'd say it's a shortcoming. Do you think it's something that can be fixed?
