PerfectTUNES and metadata on downloads

I have a NAIM Unity Core music store which edits the metadata of ripped CDs, but has only read access to the metadata on (legally purchased) downloads. Would PerfectTunes enable me to edit the metadata on the downloads stored on my PC, in such away that the download with edited metadata can be copied to the music store without loss?
